AKAP Bus Operation is Banned in Nine Terminals

From Monday (1/30), nine terminals in Jakarta are no longer serving passenger for inter-city inter-province (AKAP) route. AKAP bus will be shifted to Pulogebang Integrated Terminal, East Jakarta.

Ministry of Transportation Jabodetabek Transportation Management Dept. (BPTJ) Head, Elly Sinaga, said that terminals which is banned to serve AKAP are Pulogadung Terminal, Rawamangun, Pinang Ranti, Lebak Bulus, Pasar Minggu, Tanjung Priok, Rawa Buaya, Tanah Merdeka, and Grogol.
"All of AKAP bus in nine terminals are banned to transport passengers. Including illegal terminals and bus pool are banned to sell ticket," she said, after meeting with Transportation Dept. of Jakarta, in Pancoran, South Jakarta, Monday (1/30).

This meeting as a follow up from Transportation Minister, Budi Karya Sumadi, and Jakarta Acting Governor (Plt) Sumarsono's review. Sumarsono visit Pulogebang Terminal on Sunday afternoon (1/29).
According to him, the Company Otobus (PO) should obey the regulation, especially in pick up passengers. His side currently analyzing the act result of Jakarta Transportation Dept. against the violating PO bus. If they still violating, their operational license will be revoked.
Nevertheless, his side still provides an opportunity to PO buses to adjust within a week, starting today. They must move their entire buses following its ticket sales counter to Pulogebang Terminal.
Meanwhile, Jakarta Transportation Dept. Deputy Head, Wijatmoko Sigit added that only type-A terminal may receive AKAP bus.
"We will diciplined the entire PO buses which are still operate outside type A terminal. Ticket sales counters will be closed also," he closed.
